Los Angeles Philharmonic Musician Jory Herman Announces New Album ‘Argonautical’ Featuring 5 Works by Female Composers
The Haunted Attraction Association certifies 50 “Top Haunts” for excellence in safety, education, and scares, highlighting attractions that meet rigorous standards and enhance the Halloween experience nationwide.
In celebration of the spooky season, the Haunted Attraction Association (H.A.A.) has announced its annual list of the “Top Haunted Attractions” across the United States. Released on Friday the 13th, the announcement coincides with the rise of Halloween festivities, as stores fill with themed merchandise and pumpkin spice flavors dominate menus. The H.A.A., the only official body representing the haunted house industry, recognizes attractions that excel in safety, education, and delivering spine-chilling experiences.
To earn the prestigious “Top Haunts” certification, attractions must be H.A.A. members and meet stringent criteria that align with the association’s mission to protect customers, promote haunted attractions, and educate industry professionals. Spencer Terry, President of the H.A.A. and owner of Fear Factory Haunted Attraction in Salt Lake City, emphasized the importance of safety, stating, “Visitor safety will always be the number one priority of our industry, even before thrills and scares.”
The certification is awarded to attractions that have been operational for at least a decade and demonstrate leadership in both scare quality and operational best practices. Brett Molitor, Top Haunts Director and former H.A.A. President, praised the certified attractions for their commitment to excellence and safety, noting their dedication to setting high standards in the industry.
